Picking up captive - Breaks Stealth - Why?
I find it fairly annoying that I stealthed my way all the way through to recover a captive, and I get revealed just from the act of picking him up off the ground.

Cause way harder to hide another Body on exactly same spot? Your guy has knowledge in hiding. The Body you carry is not. You making twice your size now. Every step you do is way harder and many hiding spots and "actions" to stay hidden are no longer able for you. Annoying that you think you just can still be stealth.

It does that no matter how far away you are. I was tracking every patrol, and nobody was even in line of sight of me. I specifically blew a hole in the wall using the reaper and nobody even aggroed when I picked him up, but the security level went up when I picked him up.

Ah you mean the retrieve of a Soldier mission.
I would say its more weird that blowing up wall doesnt seem to interest them is more weird :)

Picking him is.. what? .. raising level 2 Points? .. its not really a Problem. I Think its just saying you have to be patient more. Like they just would alarm when one is now going patrol at his Cell and see the Body is still no longer there.

One rescue mission I got to the cell without anyone seeing me. Security was lvl 1 and once I picked up the body an alarm went off. I even hacked the door so the alarm wouldn't go off if I opened it. What was the point of that if an alarm sounds the moment I pick up the body? Calling the sky ranger, yeah I can see that setting off an alarm. Picking up someone breaks concealment makes no sense.

Same reason why grabbing or interacting with any mission objective breaks stealth. Gameplay, not realism.

For me when I did this, picking up the body revealed the soldier carrying them but didn't raise an alarm; I still got out undetected despite this.

I did have a reaper and a stealth-ranger backing up the specialist carrying the prisoner though.

Picking him up just raised my Alarm level by 2-3 Points. As i explained before.
Picking a Body up makes sense for breaking Concealment/stealth. But not setting alarm to full.

maybe there are different outcomes cause one is nothing happen, other just raising alarm level bit and other get full alarm.
So random that you have different outcome here? Like one time you have Camera in his Cell and another time you dont have.

I can't wait for the people who made Long War 2 to integrate that into WOTC. I want Supressors back and True Concealment.

Glad everyone can decide to take LW2 then or not. :)
Im not fan of it. So in the End all have it like they want it.

The problem was me picking up the captive inside the building revealed ALL of my guys outside the building. The captive was not in line of sight with anyone when he was picked up. The act of picking up the captive broke concealment for the entire team, turning it into an insane one sided firefight because the rest of the team was close enough to a lot of the enemies.

is it really that unrealistic to have security system that triggers a alarm?

I mean come on, they had alarm system since the dark ages, and we talking about sci-fir future here

It's probably more unrealistic that the prison is unmanned. There isn't even a desk clerk doing a PERSTAT on who's actually present.

Interacting with the objective ALWAYS reveals.
Reveal of any single soldier ALWAYS reveals everyone else (without phantom or the like).
Those are just the rules. They don't make sense from realism standpoint.

Maybe it's unmanned specifically BECAUSE every prisoner is actually tracked? Kind of makes sense.

So, despite no one knowing you're there, simply picking up a body, in a closed room, with no enemies around, alerts the whole base - but you're annoyed that someone might think you can still sneak?

OP's not saying that sneaking couldn't be harder in that situation - increased detection radius vs that guy maybe - only that there's no reason why stealth FOR THE WHOLE TEAM should be blown because one guy picked up the mission objective.
