Unlike the other chosen, she has implacable when she attacks someone, giving her 2 units of movement and has a garunteed hit with her melee weapon. How to fight her is to either wait for her psi wave attack, revive the downed soldier, then grande her cover away and open fire, do the latter if shes in view, or get a templar to swap positions with her into your squad and open fire that way.

Her gun acc is quite bad, its only her melee attacks that really hurt you.

Also mind shields make you immune to everything she can do minus her damage.

she litrally killed 3 of my operators with her mid wave attack because they were downed and i couldnt rev them in time pretty op imo but thats XCOM i guess

I just completed the first mission to track down the Chosen to their base and hunt them down. The way there the packs where easily managable, the boss battle that follows however. I won't spoil it but if you think killing that particular Chosen in the field is tough, you are in for a real treat :D

p.s I lost a Major on that mission, I could have save scummed to infinity but my squad was completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so I was losing someone to an Archon one way or another.

Well, from what I've seen in streams, isn't the assassin just a buffed old school XCOM Seeker? Throw a battle scanner when you have a good idea where she could be hidding and take her down. It has its use for facelesses too. Not sure but the good old tile tracking trick might work here too.

Basically when she shows up, I keep all my troops as close together as possible. I like to use my stealthy woman. Forgot her name, and throw her claymore and remote bomb at the chosen if possible. I don't even worry about overwatch because she ignores it. If I have a bunch of green troops with no upgrades on the weapons, i try to get out of the mission as soon as i can if poossible.

That was a really fun and really challenging mission, three of my team had 1 health left at the end. I just got lucky with the assassin because 2/3 times she was flanked so she couldn't hide.

She's definently a bigger pain than the Hunter. Just hope she doesn't get Adversary Templars and Immune to Melee at the same time.

She tends to attack you, then move outside your view range. So having a grenadier and a sharpshooter tends to be a good idea. Grenadier destroys cover and damages her. Sharpshooter can follow up without moving.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be any real special way to deal with her aside from just punishing her every time she attacks you. Also depends on her strengths and weaknesses. For me she had Shell Shocked, so I was pretty much just tossed a bunch of grenades at her every time she appeared.

I got lucky with the assassin, since she had weakness to reapers and shellshocked (weak to explosives), and I had 2 reapers when I went to assault her...
Try a Battlescanner, it reveals unseen and invisible enemies.

i think its important to cluster teams together. after 1 hit, she will run away to a direction. It is important to see where she runs. most times it will be just out of sight of your fallen soldier so its important to either have in open field or high ground for sight advantage. send a swift unit with run and gun and focus fire her. if weakness is shellshock + reaper then claymore will literally 1hit kill or lower hp to 3... none of the chosen has been proven difficult for me other then first warlock encounter. I am on commander diff and killed assassin now

stealth for the assassin works the same way as the player: damage, expose or flank her and she is revealed. If you have a stealthed reaper and roughly knows her location then you can flank and reveal her before she even have a chance to attack.

Edit: when doing a mission in her area I bring a battle scanner and a reaper if possible. 8/10 times I kill her without taking a wound on legendary

You are lucky. In my playthrough, she is immune to explosives.

Grenades. Grenades. Grenades and an occassional skirmisher. She's only tough on lost missions tbh. The warlock is a real pain on missions with large maps where he's out of sight and not running at you, as its constant exploding zombie spam while you are defending elsewhere. I haven't found out where the other one is tough yet.

When you are fighting the assassin get out in the open, or at least where you can track her when she moves away. Not near buildings and other things she can jump up. If there are not other enemies about or left actually stand together out in the open.
