Game keeps crashing after end of mission.
I did a supply raid mission, missed a couple crates but that's okay. I kill the Archon who is the last enemy, Bradford does his little speech. I click on the end mission/continue button, I get a nice view of the XCOM loading logo and bam, game freezes. I've tried twenty times, changing settings, removing mods, rebooting, starting as administrator etc.

What the heck do I do about this?

You playing with any outdated Mods? Cuz that would of course be a great way to ensure instability of your game. if not, then you could also try the mission again with all mods turned off (ignoring the warning) and see if it's a mod that causes it, even if it's shown as 'functional'.
Lastly: do a full uninstall-reinstall (or start out with a 'check' on the game and see if it's an update error that needs fixing).

Yeah I've tried without mods and whatnot, still getting the same crash. I'll try verifying again, but I'll try the reinstall as a last resort, considering the size of the game and all that. Thanks for the advice though.

You're welcome. If you still have problems, try disabling V-Sync and such in your options menu, as well as other things like blur and such. try and see if it's one of those things that causes trouble.

Did you find a solution for this Hayling?

I reinstalled the whole game after I removed every config file and mod leftovers. Then started a new campaign. Hasn't happened since. So... a kind of solution I guess? :)

I hope it works for you, good luck!

Hey, so I had the same problem. I did several things since I wasn't sure what was gonna work.

I deleted all old files, not connected to my present campaign ( in my experience games tend to load longer when you have many different saves, like in skyrim for example), disabled some mods ( not sure if that was the problem ) and I used a different save method.

I quicksaved via F5 and reloaded that file, finished the mission and my game did not crash.

Hey Slous, when in the mission did you quicksave? Or was it inbetween?

May sound weird but turning off anti-aliasing prevents random crashes on me.

I have it turned off. Thank you though

I would imagine something's wrong if you have an auto save back in the base, I'd load that and redo the mission.

its probably screwing up trying to calculate something wierd that happened in the mission and got corrupted.

This 100%! Thank you, it worked. I completed my mission down to right before extraction, quicksaved the mission, exited to desktop, and reloaded that quicksave and VOILA - no crash!

Edit: As Lampros said below me, I forgot to mention that I relaunched the game without mods first, loaded into the mission, quicksaved, exited to main menu, then reloaded the quicksave and completed the mission without crashing. Then I restarted the game with my mods on again. Unfortunately, it seems that I have to do this more often than not... I guess that's the risk you take when using mods.

This happens to me quite a lot, and it's definitely mods that cause it for me. So I have a simple solution: Save right before the end of the mission, and play un-modded just for the last turn if the game bugs out.

Sorry for reviving this thread, but I have crashes without any mods installed at all. Most people say it's due to mods, but what about crashes after a fresh install? It was all fine and fun and now I get crashes after mission success for no reason.
