crash deleted my WotC ironman save

no, only if you have made manually a backup from your Savefile (I think).

Never play Ironman on Release day (or the first patch is out).

I play with Ironman disabled, but like Ironman. No Savescumming and loading a earlier save only when I lost my actual save throug a bug or a crash. And missing a 99% shot is NO Bug ;)

That sucks dude. But yeah, WotC just came out and this game is rather complex making it hard to bugtest everything.

Just ironman without the ironman setting, so major bugs or rediculous glitches don't ruin a playthrough.

Well if there was a physical save on your hardrive you can run a program like "recuva" which is free, and it scans for deleted files and restored them.

Anyways, sorry for necro.. lol.. steam is bugged for me, this thread came up in the second column, And then i remember that all second columns for me are like weeks old, it's a bug with my account :(

Happened to me as well. Since that happened i just wrote some python code to make automatic backups every 30 minutes. Im not afraid of crashes anymore.

This is why I always just play self-enforced ironman. Much safer.

I am responding to this 6 years later to let you know my ironman save just got deleted after a crash and you were smart because they never fixed this issue.

These days we just call it "honestman". It's exactly the same as ironman, but with backup saves.

I love this game but it's not without its issues. Issues that quickly start multiplying when you add mods to the equation, which sooner or later most of us do.

It's been a while so I'm uncertain. Does the Bronzeman mod grant a recoverable save point for battles?

No clue, don't use it. You'd likely have better luck just looking up the mods steamworkshop page (I recommend searching for it though google than steams built in engine).
