Will and Psi operatives?

Yeah just wondering if Will has any effect on the effectiveness of a Psi Operative's abilities or if it just effects their ability to resist mental effects and die?

I ask because I remember in Enemy Unknown you could only send soldiers with high will for Psi testing and the higher the will the more likely they would be capable of getting Psi powers, obviously that is not the case in Xcom 2 but was wondering if there is any benefit to sending high will soldiers for Psi Op training or if it would just be a waste considering that they can learn Solace which blocks all negative mental effects anyway?

Will also affects their ability to mind control and apply status effects to enemies afaik.

No, Psi Ops have PSI stat that effects their abilities, will is just the defence against other Psionic Attacks,

no it doesn't. Will effects psi defense (vs panic/mind control etc), the psi stat effects the abilities and can be increased by using better psi amps

So best to use my low will geniuses for psi op training while using the high will as regular soldiers?

yep, though it will not make a huge difference in the big picutre. Psi-ops get a skill where they are immune to mind control/panic attacks (though not normal panic rolls) anyway so their will means less, but normally by that point though you don't have tons of rookies and lots of other ways to deal with MC/panic so just use what you got

Oh yeah i forgot about that stat lol. I blame my tiredness from playing the game almost nonstop yestesday :P
