This. Talemore’s advice is basically true pre-WotC. The buff to breakthrough chance is a significant bonus later on.
The research speed feels like a bigger deal earlier on... later its just a bit eh as no new project is ever going to be hugely more effective simply finishing a few days earlier.
Some of the breakthroughs are extremely powerful though, it’s great to have them more likely to trigger.
That’s literally what I’ve just said. The point is that by the time this accumulates to anything meaningful it doesn’t actually matter.
Don’t get me wrong, increased research speed is never going to be a bad thing but compared to being able increase the damage of whole classes of guns, instantly excavate sections or slash costs of all proving ground projects then it’s not that big a deal.
