MSVCR120.dll is missing.
I went to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 to fix it. I vailded the files and I even went in to repair as admin. Nothing has worked at all. I even undownloaded the game and redownloaded it. Still didn't help.

Look for the redist folder for the VCredist, and try installing it manually:

\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCOM 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012

make sure the direct X runtime properly installed when installing game, and perhaps turn of virus scan and windows defender when installing, as they sometime have habit of removing .dll files randomly and without telling you.

I don't have my windows defender on and I don't have my virus scan on atm while downloading. I do have direct X installed. Nothing is working at all.

Eh, uninstall every visual c runtime from "add and remove programs", restart computer, and reinstall them again from the redist folder

Or something along these lines

Is it the message you get when you try to start the game while you don't have Microsoft visual C++ redistribute 2013? A file who is not included in the commonredist who you need to play the game.

I appear to have it wrong. MSVCR120.dll is for the 2013 redist, not 2012 like I originally mentioned.

Well free weekend over now. Besides I did the 2012, 2013 and 2015. None of them fix the problem.
