XCOM 2

Crash dump Watcher?
So i bought xcom 2 during the steam summer sale because i really enjoyed the previous game, but i ran into a very big issue. Now i've checked out all the other technical support discussions so don't tell me to check those out. But the issue i run itno is whenever I hit play from the launcher I get a little window that pops up and says CrashDumpWatcher has stopped working. The only two options i get for the window is "debug" and "close program" the game launches perfectly other than that but I run into some other issues along the way. First none of my settings ever stay the same after changing them and quiting and relaunching the game. The second issue i run into is the character customization, whenver i customize any character i can barely manage 2 fps while switching items but in game i manage a good 60. The third and final problem i run into is with the saves. I can't load a single save file and when i restart the game all my save files disappear. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the game, verfiying game files(two always need to be reaquired), restarting my computer, all my drivers are up date, so i really don't know what to do. I'll post my specs down below and any help would be appreciated :)

OS: Windows 10
Cpu: intel core 17-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Gpu: geforce GTX 1080
16 GB RAM

Do you have any launch parameters?

This sounds like a support ticket with 2K Games thing.

Dev commands or anything you modified.

Do you have any mods?

Well you should try reinstalling the game maybe.

I might have found a solution but it requires you to delete your saves. Not sure if you are willing to do that.

Also to make sure, when you right click on Xcom 2 in steam, in properties, the launch options are blank?

The problem is I can't keep any save files. I didn't really explain it well, but pretty much all my save files just flat out disappear and if i try and load them in game it says the files are corrupted.

Yea, so here is a fix maybe from someone with the same issue I believe:

"This happens when a save game or the game profile gets corrupt the games crashes at startup shortly after the initial run screen. The issue won't be solved it you just delete your local profile (Documents/My Games/XCOM2) because the steam cloud sync will always restore the corrupted save. Here is how you can fix it, launch the initial run screen, then go to Documents/My Games) and delete the XCOM2 Folder. Then it will launch again and the cloud syncs with the clean install again. As I played Ironman the Progress was gone but, at least, the games runs again."

I'll try it and let you know if it works!!!!

The save file issue - disable Steam cloud saving. I had the same issue with many games. I eventually realised that the cloud save synch was actually corrupting the local game save files. It only takes one bit to be altered due to noise or signal stutter etc, and the cloud data is then corrupted and it overwrites your clean save. AR
