It's still there even with all mods disabled.
Could you share your fix for the rest of us?
However, for some reason on a triple monitor setup there seems to be a completely unavoidable, andd very distinct pause after ever command you issue to your troops. I can only guess this is a result of some AI computations and the additional tiles. Even with a very overclocked, latested gen processor (that is watercooled) - there is still a lag. Totally unavoidable.
Its a shame too. In every other respect, the game seems to run very smooth on triple monitors, and the additaionl screen realestate really makes the game ennjoyable. The maps fill spacious and your visibility is excellent.
However, even with a maxxed out rig, and not even a hiccup in FPS - you WILL get lag with a triple monitor setup. Its mind boggling, and I wish it were not so.
But I'm playing on a perfectly normal single-monitor setup, so... whatever's going on in this thread, it must be something different from my issue.

You killing a Chrysalid.
Overwatch sometimes trigger massive delays.
Or mods.
Better yet, two SSDs. The second one can be smallish (250 GBytes) and set your windows page file to be used on that second drive exclusively. Avoid putting anything else on that drive, other than maybe your system backup image. That way, Windows and the game can access both SSDs simultaneously and it spreads out the heat load. SSDs do get heated up with constant use which definitely happens if you go with only a single SSD drive system.
Also, never load your SSDs past the 50% usage mark as their efficiency falls off dramatically at that point. Since you don't know the size of the the windows page file (being it's dynamic), it's best to place it exclusively on it's own SSD drive anyhow. On a single drive system, that you think is only loaded up to 45% or so, the Windows page file can dynamically make the drive exceed 50% capacity, decreasing your drive performance for no observable reason.
There was a reason the original poster titled this thread with "Long Pause..." and not "Lag after...". This is not lag. This is a pause the system takes after every action, both player and AI for whatever reason.
Being a programmer, I'd say this looks like some sort of subroutine that is taking too long to perform a certain function and QA missed it before going to prod. Not uncommon as most QA rigs are not multi-screen or 2x at max. QA teams usually get one huge monitor to test, where this problem is specifically geared at 3x displays.
Yesterday I started disabling Eyefinity and blanking 2 of my displays with a program called Multiscreen Blank v2 just to play this game (check it out here[nookkin.com] if you need this too). You have no idea how painful it is to have two blank screens in your peripheral vision when you are used to being immersed in whatever you are playing. If I get bored enough, I'll physically disconnect one of my displays, then Eyefinity the other two and see how the game reacts to this.
