For my first playthrough (and probably only playthrough because of time limitations), what mods and/or DLC would you recommend? (if any)
I played EU with EW for the first time and only after beating it did I find out how much of the features I took for granted came from EW and I'd have never thought of buying EW if it wasn't included in whatever bundle I bought back then. I don't want to make that mistake with XCOM 2.
I have no interest in fighting this game to make it perform well.
I have a fairly beasty rig and no desire to futz with a poorly optimized product, which is why I've avoided even considering XCOM 2 until now.
Fwiw, i7, 16GB and a GTX 960 2GB under Windows 10x64.
$, the price of the game isn't the real question here, I'm wanting to know if the performance issues have been fixed for most with this last weeks round of updates.
As for the $12 price, Humble Bundle January Monthly has XCOM 2 and a 1 month sub costing $12 will buy you this game and others as they are announced this month. So, imoho, the price is definitely good if the game isn't too much of a headache to run.
Thanks. :)
I'm never sure what sort of answer these kind of threads seem to expect.
I personally don't regret buying it at full price at launch, since this is simply the game I enjoyed the most and went back more often across the entire year. In fact, it's my personal top GOTY for 2016.
Then again, if the idea of spending 12 dollars unwisely is terrifying to you, maybe you should wait another year and plan carefully your budget.
