Early UFO hunts Avenger, restart?

I´m doing my second run of the game. Last run i had the UFO dark event come up like in the end game. But this run. I get UFO hunt preparations early...i have done like 4 missions (Supply raid, 1 Guerilla Op...and so on). So will this end my game? It as pretty hard with colonels. I can´t imagine i would stand a chanse without a defense matrix and just about rookies.

Why did it come up so early? Will this be one of the Guerilla OP for the rest of the game? Until i "accept" it (and do another guerilla op)? Because there are some really nasty dark events that i want to avoid (like the cryssalids).

If you get missions like this early game then usually the difficulty is scaled down to be fair. Don't restart. You can lose most of your soldiers in the early game without too much detriment and keep flying.

You'll be fine. worst case just take a phantom ranger and use a sniper to shoot the thing from afar.

I've had them come early game, you fight the normal enemies that you would for that timeframe, it scales pretty well

Ya, I've had it come up very early a couple times and managed to handle it.

Ok, it went away. I countered the dark event containg the "UFO" by doing a guerilla mission. Now there are other dark events to counter...the UFO went away...for now :-)

Early UFO = early game enemies. And if you fail the mission (even on Ironman) the game allows you to retry (like base defense in EW).

Hunt XCOM dark event, if it goes active, just means there is hunter ship flying around. And it might not find you or you might evade it.

When you should be really scared is when hunter appears without the dark event, cause then it is guaranteed to get you.

With phantom ranger and a pair of snipers, it is not so hard anyways.

You don't ever really need Defence Matrix per se, it's a luxury more than a necessity.

The Defense scales with your gamne time --> Early avenger defense is super ez when you manage to survive the initial assault, cause its unlikely to get anything harder than a mec and a couple of sectoids
