Drop rate for repeaters?
After playing several long-ish games by this point, I've noticed something odd - I seem to have a HELL of a time sourcing Repeater weapon mods. Is there a reason for that or am I just unlicky? I've never seen them for sale in the Black Market and I tend to get them incredibly rarely. What's the deal with that? Is there a way I can source more?

Failing all of the above, does a mod exist which makes all weapon mods equally likely to drop? I'm not trying to put Repeaters on literally everything, but throughout my current very long campaign, I've gotten 3 basic ones. That's really annoying.

Interesting you mentioned that. My latest campaign, I was literally awash with every other type of mod except repeaters. I think I saw my first repeater only sometime in August when I already had fully modded out plasma weaponry. Throughout entire campaign, only two repeaters, one regular, one superior. I god Vulture early and I scored loot in almost every mission except a few.I also was checking BM every drop cycle.

Tbh I don't like finding repeaters anyway, they are only really useful for the guys that dont do much damage, aka the specialist.

I am having a hard time getting any exrta ammo clips. The majority of my squads are still only using the basic ammo clips. Cant find any and cont figure out how to make them.
Not finding many repeaerts as well.

There is a mod that lets you build them around somewhere, you could look into that.

There's an Ulitmate Workshop mod floating around, but I don't know that I'm a huge fan of that one. It's a bit... Massive. There's also this. Seems like a pretty well-thought-out mod with a lot of balance checks built in, even though it doesn't actually help me get better repeaters on account of needing to pick them up initially :) In either case, though, I'd heavily suggest pairing those mods with the Reward Decks Refresher mod to avoid breaking your Proving Grounds.

In either case, though, this doesn't actually adderss the main problem I have with the game, which is that Repeaters are exceptionally rare for no good reason. Yes, they can execute enemies in one hit. In my entire time playing this game, I've seen that happen a small handful of times. They're hardly gamebreaking, and they happen to be the coolest-looking mods. Ideally, I'd like to make them as common as other mods in the drop pools rather than just crafting them.

Increase the chance in LootTables

How would one go about doing this? Are the loot tables recorded in an ini file or somewhere in the class files? I realise this isn't the Modding subforum, but I'm still curious. If it's a simple ini tweak then that would be pretty easy to accomplish.

Go to DefaultGameCore.ini
ctrl+F
Search = freekill
Change: chance=14
To
Chance=35
Change min and maxcount to gain extra repeaters

DefaultGameCore.ini, "freekill," got it! Thank you kindly :)

Hmm... OK, so I'm back home and looking through the loot tables. This makes no sense to me. It doesn't seem like Repeaters are intentionally given a lower chance to drop. Basic Repeaters have a chance of 14, which is the same as most other mods. Granted, Advanced and Superior Repeaters have a chance of 8, so the game's trying to make them more rare, but this doesn't explain why I'd literally never see them aside from like a couple of drops. I should have seen Basic repeaters, at least.

How do chances work, anyway? Does the game just roll on the sum total of all chances, or do chances have to add up to anything? From your suggestion of setting it to 35, I presume there's little control for their combined value, but all of the values in the tables in the file do add up to 100. Or is that just for the sake of convenience?

*edit*
I should take this to the modding forum.

Thanks
I have been using that mod. Either I havent found the right combination to unlock magazines and repeaters or its causing a conflict.

AAh, sorry I never actually used that mod, I just remember seeing one that lets you build the items.
Malidictus Jan 24, 2017 @ 10:13am
Well, there is this mod. It lets you build weapon mods and PCS chips through an actually pretty cool and well-balanced system. The flavour text is... "Quirky" and it messes with Tygan's face, however.

That is the only mod I have used for building items you cant normally get. I hated having to choose between running out of elerium cores later and having a suit for everyone that needed one.
