Tips for dealing with MECs?
They just shoot rockets across the map every time...
Regardless of the fact if I group up or not, they'll just fire more often than not even at single target. It's very frustrating.

Non-LW game and no DLC, as for gameplay mods then I have Long War mods (but not actual Long War). Any tips how to make them less likely to shoot the rockets?

Explosive, Shredding, Hack, Blue Screen Protocol (weapon mod) - but not necessarily in this order - then take it down. I make it one of my top priority to take down asap. It does not have cover bonus so shooting at it is not hard. Need to remove its armor first unless you have, let's say a sniper riffle to do enough damage besides its protection.

Aside from the obvious tips of killing them in one turn or shutting them down with haywire, all advice I can give is to try to break line of sight and force them to waste their action points on moving.
The thing is, as I'm pretty new to this game, my experience is soly on unmodded and normal difficulty. So, sofar I never realy had any need to use tactics more sofisticated than "shredd armour, then finish them off with whatever has a clear shot" or hacking.
Though I'm not sure if this game actualy lets you get a lot more sofisticated than this in the first place...

They seem to prefer the rockets when two or more of your troopers are standing close to eachother. Try spreading out top stop this from happening or at least make it less likely. And if it should happen, at least it will only hit one of yours.

I prefer hacking them.

Well... as long as I can't kill them because they are out of reach I guess that's the best option, but when entire enemy team fires on my Assault while she is in a single high cover alone very much far from other teammates and MEC aims all the rockets in one spot on her... that's just sad.

I didn't use the word sniping by accident. They just go crazy out of my reach and then strictly nuke guys that aren't even close to having a LoS on that MEC. I guess that would probably mean that they use Squad Sight for this just the same as you can for using grenades (because you throw them at a spot and not at a person).

Well that's the best case scenario when more than two soldiers can take a shot at that MEC or they have proper gear to take it out alone but that doesn't always happen because if it did I wouldn't be salty enough to go to the forums and cry like a little *****.

Not gonna lie when I see a muton or mec start animation for grenades/rockets I get salty already, the only real way to avoid the pain if they snipe you like that is to not be on a roof so you don't take big fall damage as the rocket doesn't hurt too much
