Big Sky or Fire Brand? Which one do you like better?
XCOM: EU/EW transport jet is named as Big Sky and for XCOM2 its Fire Brand.
In terms of LOOKS which do you prefer?

Honestly I still prefer the sleek look of Big Sky than Fire Brand.

Yeah Big Sky is the name of the code for who flies it and Firebrand is a girl. I liked Big Sky a little more

Pig Sky.

Fire brand has annoying squeaky voice.

Uhmm, I was referring to the Jet's design in XCOM and XCOM2.
Anyway in regards to the voice, yeah Big Sky is still better.

Big Sky had sass, firebrand is generic

if only big sky would have fit in the avenger...

I think you missed the part in the story where it's the same plane. They talk about it being the last remaining one from the previous war. The design has been smoothed some but it's very little in difference.

I found I could tune out Firebrand easier so she gets my vote as the better pilot.

To answer your question, based on 'looks' (i.e. the Skyranger), I prefer Big Sky. I'm not a fan of the new Skyranger design while the old Skyranger not only looks like it could carry everything that its implied it does, but also looks like a Quinnjet.

Yah I forgot that SKYRANGER was its name. My bad...
So plane wise I prefer the SKYRANGER in XCOM: EU/EW
Pilot... still the male pilot (Big sky)

The original skyranger is the best and bigsky is a better code name for a transport then firebrand. Firebrand would of been better had it been a fighter.

But whats the deal with the squad names? In the first game you were strike 1, and that made sense. But the new team is menace 15. So im curious what Bradford isnt telling us about the existance, or fate, of teams 1 to 14.

The new "Firebrand" thinks you can split a jet turbine down the middle and end up with two working engines.

"Big Sky" was better designed.

There was an incident where firebrand parked the skyranger too close to the wall, but I think it was solved as there's not been any new reports of the skyranger being misplaced in the hangar and with the new bar installed we can't blame firebrand for drunk driving the skyranger and maybe the reason why we always start so far away from the objective. We don't have any interceptors because Bradford fired all the pilots and he won't allow anyone else pilot the Avenger. As it stand Firebrand is the only pilot Bradford trust and I won't go too deep on the lore but it seems only men were mindcontrolled on the base defend mission. As a VO I prefer Firebrand than big sky who to me sounded generic.

It would be neat to see a mini mod where you have to rescue Big Sky. You could call it Sky ranger down orsomething like that. And once you rescue him, you have access to a second sky ranger/pilot for recon/infiltrate missions like in Long War 2.

I prefer big Sky. I like the look of the larger plane.

Welp I'd like to chip in and actually support the new Skyranger from Xcom 2. I believe that the original Skyranger was stupidly designed in the original. Too many engines for no good reasons. And yet, "Firebrand" is supposed to be quite smaller but manage to carry twice the payload despite Big Sky size? Really? Those fuel tanks must be a ♥♥♥♥♥!

I way, way prefer the redesign of "Firebrand". The two jets on the sides make way more sense in an aerospacial standpoint and the flaws of such a redesign seem to be evident on the landings animations. I also like how they removed the wheels and replaced it by something which make a ton more sense for a VTOL aircraft which will never take off from a runway in it's active life anyways.

Also, regarding to the name itself... Firebrand is a direct wink to one of X-com games. I'm not sure, might be Xcom 3. Been too long for me to remember clearly. But I do remember it's one of the names given to an X-Com made craft.

I like the Big Sky Skyranger better simply due to me liking the overalll visual style of EU/EW more than X2.

However there's a more, so to speak, intimate relationship with Firabrand because of how often you get to evacuate directly by it
