XCOM 2

Is there a list of gamepad compatible mods anywhere?
Has a list of compatible mods been made? Can I have a link to it please?

I've seen lists for compatible with Long War 2, & was looking for a similar list for the mods that work with using the gamepad/controller option available in the options menu.

I've struggled with my mod juggling & have found myself back to near vannila. Alternatively, is there a clever button configuration for Big Picture mode that you're aware of that would allow "partial" support where the mouse would be available when the controller isn't supported, that retains the majority of the otherwise friendly playability that the controller provides me?

Was dissapointed that options that I took for granted from xcom 1 are provided by the non-controller supported toolbox. If this should've been in the workshop discussion then I apologize, I just haven't run across a list of gamepad/controller supported mods & was hoping that someone might know of such a list, & was imagining that maybe it appears somewhere other than this forum that I just haven't come across yet.

P.S. If you prefer to play with a mouse and keyboard that's swell, you're not alone & in fact that was the only way to play this on PC when it came out. I purchased it on Steam after gamepad/controller support was instituted because then it became a game that I was interested in playing on here.

I see mention of "alternate controller" twice there, but haven't the foggiest what that implies.

I haven't been on Nexus since early Skyrim days so I'm out of the loop a bit, are there some gems there that aren't in the workshop?

I've been trying the Big Picture Mode default (my Steam controller can continue to collect dust, didn't enjoy that at all) w/360 pad. What I found was that the ....'. num pad does goofy stuff, so you have to still use the 1-0 sometimes (looks like I could use a modifier button to get more than just 4 on the d-pad). I don't mind m/k when not in "tactical" combat, but even then it still isn't as clever IMHO as when it just works for the 360.

There aren't any "collections" in the workshop with an assortment that works (w/360 pad) still. I'm over trying to have all the G.I.Joe characters, or much else fluff until I get the core to work happily for me. I've powered through a few playthroughs, but have found myself in a loop trying to get the Long War Toolbox to do anything again (crummy that some options I came to expect from the X-Com EU are not supported like that).

Okay, so now I found Alternate controller option v2 in your files there. Says it's a java app, is that not something that could be handled with Big Picture controller setting configuring? Is it adding special sauce?

My issue with the Big Picture 360 setup that I've got is the dang thing does a "deja vu" does stuff again gobbling up an action frequently enough that it stinks right now.

Some mods tamper with the ui (grimys loot mod) that add a tab to modify armor and put upgrades on them.... The tab is gone when i use a controller.
Stuff like this is a huge problem and likely impossible to fix unless the mods devs do it themselves... Which i doubt they ever will.
I make all my mods with controllers in mind though.

PS: all those controller mods on nexus are trash.. they are just mouse emulators for your joysticks pretty much. (usually requiring third party software as well)

It is a simple external app to emulate mouse and keyboard functions to the controller. As above poster stated, it is simply mouse emulation. I am unsure how else you would get functionality in LW 2 otherwise.

I have tried some of the apps on nexus and found them unsatisfactory. The solution I presented works well. It is also easy to implement and highly customizable to whatever feels right for you.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/367670/ Have you tried this? I have heard good things about it.

I personally use Pinnacle Game Profiler but I was trying to give people a solution that does not require a purchase.

I have xpaddr, but with the Steam improvements to their controller support & configuration in "Big Picture" I don't see why you'd bother with anything else for that purpose currently (in the past it was essential for that purpose to use outside solutions).

Lot of players are using LW2 which does not support controller by default. External solution is required.

Did you read that part, that you quoted Peregrinus? Not that any of this is what I was trying to establish in my request in this thread. But I guess the updated controller support in Big Picture is still too "new" for everyone to understand.

Sorry, I don't use big picture mode.
