Just play the game and enjoy it.. Maybe you will realize you like turn based games strategy games.

You kind of have to read as well as being capable of it. Otherwise you might make crazy mistakes like thinking the latest instalment of the best known turn-based strategy game franchise out there would be an FPS.

Trailer was not suggestive. Just because they had guns doesn't mean it's an FPS lol.

Well since you already got it, you might as well try it? Might be a refreshing experience for you playing a different genre. If not then meh, it's just 12 bucks.

I was like the OP when I got XCOM EU as a freebie from the Golden Joysticks Awards a few years back. I wasn't into First Person Shooters and so I thought I wouldn't enjoy the franchise.

However, curiosity still got the best of me so I tried the game and was ever so relieved that the game WAS NOT an FPS title.

If you pull a total bonehead, at least folks can get a laugh out of it. Plus I've found that it's always best if you leave the kicking to other people. When you kick yourself, your aim can be really nasty.
