Short delay in alien's death animation.
Hi everybody,

I didn't play XCOM2 since a while now. In fact, not since that last 2 DLC comes out. I get back in the saddle yesterday and find out that each time you kill an alien, there is a slight delay (maybe half a second) before the death animation occur, in the same fashion which EW brought back in the days.

So, maybe it is my memories that play me trick, but this delay wasn't there before, right? If so, is there any mod of something I can fiddle in the .ini files to remove this? I know, it's a minor thing, but it bug me each time I make a kill. It somekind dilute a bit the joy of pulvurizing an alien. :D

Nah that's been in the game from day one, unfortunately. I don't believe there's a way to solve it, but I may be wrong.

In the XComAnimations.ini file in your XCOM 2 My Games folder:

;there is a delay between the "hit by fire" animation and the "death animation"
[XComGame.X2Action_ApplyWeaponDamageToUnit]
;HitReactDelayTimeToDeath=0.5; Seconds, When playing the hit react before death delay death by this amount (play hit react for this duration then death)
HitReactDelayTimeToDeath=0.2

It always been this way for me too. But I always assumed it was due to the game calculating something and computing the next move.

I just reinstalled XCOM 2 today and the animations are wonky from the last time I played around mid last year.

I'm getting significantly delayed death animations, but something I've never had occur before is death animations occurring BEFORE the damage is taken, ha ha! e.g. Twice I've lobbed a grenade and the enemies were flying in the air before grenade explosion occurred.

I put it on 0 seconds and yet it's a delay, maybe a tiny bit faster but it looks really bad, EU did have this but it was rarely for me.
