First game would probably take you anywhere between 15-25 hours I'd imagine

if he's rushing it. My first playthrough took 40-50 hours or so.

I have 100 hours and haven't finished, but mostly because I keep restarting. It's a decent length game with mods, though.

Same. Indicative time is 20 hrs I think. But you can easilly extend it to 100 hr and over. Depends if you rush to end campaign or fool arround with aliens. I did a last man standing 2 years game time campaign of about 150 hrs so...

I also once did almost two years campaign because I wanted full 6 man squad of fully upgraded psi-ops. And it was totally worth it. Those guys were tearing aliens apart. Even a Sectopod or an Avatar wasn't really a threat to them.

A start to end replay for someone who knows Xcom is around 10-30 hours. Depending in playstyle.

The length of this game is repeatability. By using a different playstyle, class builds and tactics it changes massively. See people who have 1000's of hours in Xcom.

This has been further extended with all the mod options.

Well, you don't need that much. 15-20 was always enough for me.

I did say it was a modded game. Many more points of interests, missions and battles. So more squads, or an equivalent to it. LW2 is yet far ahead and I'm happy with this.

About 90-100 hours for my first Commander/Ironman walkthrough.

Gameplay could last forever if you mod and just want to play by testing your overpowered gear and pawns.

Becomes a chore though.

I've always found the XCOM difficulty curve reversed:
- Early game is the hardest in terms of keeping soldiers alive becausr you have minimal tactical options and are more dependant on RNG.
- Midgame is THE juice, when you'e still struggling for resources and are facing significant challenges.
- Late game is an occasionally challenging power trip where you mostly mow through aliens with a roster of MSGTs with plasma weapons, heavy armor and psi abilities on top of that.

Making the last stage too long gradually makes your campaign boring though. Better be done with it and start a new one with ew mods and a higher difficulty.

I'm approaching 200hrs. Beat the game on almost all modes.

Replayability is very high. Usually I'll do a play through of the game and put it down for a few months and then play again with new mods to change it up.

I do have over 300 in the first one.
