XCOM 2
MS Visual C++ 2015 Redist Error
Okay, so I took a break from playing XCOM 2 for like 10 days or so and when I tried running it just a moment ago and a couple things happened. First, Steam acted like it was starting XCOM for the first time and so it searched for the 2015 Redist. I then got a MS Visual C++ 2015 Redist Error saying something like it couldn't find vc_runtimeMinimum_x64.msi. I have gotten this error before, with the game Planet Coaster, I know that if I hit cancel, the game will load just fine on its own, but I can't believe this has happened to me again. XCOM 2 worked fine about 10 days ago, I DO HAVE the currect redist installed (cuz otherwise I wouldn't have been able to play it before). Does anyone have a cure for this or am I stuck like I am with Planet Coaster?

Grab the x86 and 64bit versions of the 2015 resdistributable from here and install them:

There was an update to XCOM 2 in the past few days which pushed that VC++ 2015, but best to go to the source, IMO. Previously only (IIRC) 2012 and 2013 were distributed with XCOM2, not 2015

Okay, I've tried that before, when I experienced this with Planet Coaster. I tried it again anyway and I get same message when I attempt to install the Redist Update 3. "couldn't find vc_runtimeMinimum_x64.msi". Am I screwed or what?

Uh. I have no idea what's going on there. Whenever I'm updating the redistributables I just download "vc_redist.x64.exe" and "vc_redist.x86.exe" for VC++ 2005 thru 2015 and run them.

Well I can't. Sigh. I guess it's a PC problem then, but at least the game still works........
HOWEVER, now it seems that when I go into tactical view and start a mission, my video goes psychodelic and I can't correct it. I'm already running on mimimal settings, so I have no effin clue what's going on. I did make 5 small mod changes since I played it last, so that's what I'm testing now (even tho 2 of them are just voice packs!). ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I need my XCOM!

That pink 'n' green thing, whenever I have it I've been able to exit the game and restart. Think there was one of the map pack mods which consistently caused the issue but it was fixed months ago.

I get that pink and green psychedelic thing too, reminds me of the old style 90s 3D videos when you had to wear those red and green glasses. It only ever happens when i exit to main menu and even then just appears randomly. Has never effected me in game though. Now i think about it, it has only started happening recently and may be a result of that redist update.

Restart from Desktop? Well, I can try that if it happens again, in the meantime I guess I'm still going to play it safe and debug these new mods.

Update: None of the mods that I had added duplicated the psychodelic video, so you were right Dragon32. Thanks for your help.
