I haven't tried unplugging the peripherals, but that would probably work. Unfortunately, it's not easy for me to get at the back of my computer to remove a device to play a "quick" game.
My preference is for it to play nice with my peripherals like it originally did. Or barring that, to be able to turn off that controller feature in that game so it continues to work with just my mouse and keyboard. I appreciate the dev team adding additional support for controllers, but I think they need to improve that feature.

But I had this same problem. The game ran fine until I unplugged my HOTAS, then the mouse got jammed as above. I plugged in a game controller to try to get to the menu, and the game works normally. Even though the controller is plugged in, I can simply use KB/M like a normal person would.
