If you're referring to the blue bubbles that show up when a patrol team doesn't show back up to a group, as far as I can tell that setting is applied to ALL groups with a boss (IE a boss-tier guard plus regular guards) in the entire game. That's actually my single biggest complaint about the update in my thread regarding the matter.
edit: the alert they use is INTRUDER (ie, not GUNSHOT or BODY)
My bad, I was assuming you meant the fact that any group with a boss notices their buddies didn't show back up if you take out a patrol, and the reamining guards get blue bubbles over their heads, and they all start spinning around in heightened alert (which makes it much harder to kill them without an alarm being sounded, though they won't actually sound an alarm from that alone).
If they're actually calling intruder, that sounds like you're getting caught in heat sensors (IE the red aura surrounding guards with that perk.) Do note that heat sensor detection WILL cause an alarm before they see you now - that got changed.
If they actually have life-link that will do it too, but from my experience life-link is super visible with the green lines extending between members of the network. That said, I do think they increased visibility range and possibly very slightly reduced the time it takes for guards to call out an intruder.
