But comparing the Epic version to Steam. The Steam version just runs worse. So it could even be missing optimization.
Using optimization as an reason for you to pay them twice?
Fcvking Microsoft bastrad.
1)Download gamepass/window store version and sign your bethesda account etc
2)Go to gamepass folder of evil within and cut and paste (Don't copy and paste)
3)Go to steam evil within folder and delete all of it's files inside the folder and after that paste all of gamepass files into steam folder.
4)You can launch evil within on steam now and have all of content from gamepass version
Note : There are some downgrade such as you won't have your old save files so you'll still have to play gamepass save files and also you cannot get achievements from steam.
When it comes to Framerate, it's exactly the same. I get 140-170 FPS on my Ryzen 5600X and RX 6600 XT with 16GB RAM and an SSD on Arch Linux.
So the game should be comfy for anyone running below those specs and aiming for 60 FPS.
Although those new features seem like nothing they are still a QoL update,
so the more the better.
And the optimization are listed in the official announcement. It's not about the files.
How can you deny such blatant truth?
At the end of the day, you'll going to ask yourself:
Same price for a better version or an inferior version?
Unlike you, i know the game and the files in and out from both versions. The optimization was done to loading times, increasing them by thrice on a normal HDD.
Go to your game directory ON STEAM, i might add, and go to base folder. This is where the levels are located. See how they are split in parts? They aren't on GOG/Epic or Microsoft.
Yes, those are QOL improvements, but they are so minor that they aren't worth it.
The only big improvement is sprinting time. The pre-order bonus items are useless, and only the Shotgun is used in the non-official speedrun then ditched for the normal Shotgun. The bolts are also useless.
First person is interesting, but it's also janky as hell. It's weird and unresponsive.
Also, the game is awesome, anyone who played it can tell you it's a rough gem.
It does not break your PC.
It runs on an old engine, what do you expect?
Stop spreading lies.
What lies?
They added a first person mode + FOV option
Infinite ammo mode
Icons for lantern/sneaking in first person view
Low/Medium options for Camera Bob
The stamina has been adjusted, you can now run for 5 seconds at default stamina(was originally 3 seconds)
The game also feels less janky and smooth
Fanboys be fanboys.
Steam version is admittedly the worst version, but it's playable. Which is why I have hundreds of hours in the game. If it breaks your PC, you need a new one. Don't blame the game.
The sequel runs on a more optimized engine. What's the point of complaining about performance? I still play it just fine.
Guess fanboy will most likely buys a quantum PC to run this turd.
