Can't scroll
I can't read through all the notes in game because the mouse scroll doesn't seem to be working in game. Is this just me or is the game peened up?

It's messed up. What you can do to make it work, is from the game itself, don't move your mouse at all. Hit Esc, navigate to the archives and file you want to read using only your keyboard, and so long as you don't move your mouse while you scroll with the scroll wheel, you'll be able to browse the files. I'm not saying it makes sense, I'm just saying for some reason it works.

This might be considered not helpful, but just in case: If you're connecting a gamepad, it's the right analog stick to scroll. You might try that out as the game controls much better overall with a pad anyway.

Correct. It's a crappy workaround, but it works for now. If you're not otherwise using the gamepad and have it lying around on the desk, just make sure to diable "Vibration", if you don't wanna die from a heart attack. -.-

How does this get by?

By not using gamepads. xD

Ah I see... Well by getting tangled up between all sorts of platforms and not paying full attention to any of them.

The best solution I've found is to not touch the mouse at all. Use esc to get to your archives, then use the keyboard to get to the file you want to read. Then, instead of using the mouse wheel to scroll, use the page up/page down keys to scroll through the messages.

If anyone finds this from google and still needs help, page up and page down did it for me, pretty solid work around.

The up and down arrow keys work for me.

Found via Google. Unfortuantely none of these soltutions are working for me. Going to archive and then use page up and page down don't do anything at all. The arrow keys switch between notes in the archive. I don't have a gamepad so I can't try that.

I guess as an alternative if a note sounds important I will look it up online. :steamfacepalm:

Loving the game though..:steamhappy:

Wow, fantastic. The solution of navigating the menu without moving the mouse makes the mouse wheel actually work. For PAGE UP / PAGE DOWN to work, you also have to go back to the menu without touching your mouse at all, or it won't work. So in both situations, you just can't move your mouse at all to scroll notes; it's easier to just use PAGE UP / PAGE DOWN, since by using the mouse wheel there's a chance you mess it up by moving the mouse accidentally. Of course the easiest solution is playing with a gamepad.

Bethesda support just assured me the common troubleshooting guide (checking file integrity, updating drivers and changing the settings to no aa, no reflections and no motion blurring), and I quote "has been known to fix this issue in the past"

If that doesn't work.. reload a previous save or start a new game...

Yeah, seriously, that's the advise they gave me.

Also if you moved your mouse and can't scroll, you can Alt+Tab out of the game and back in and scrolling will work again (until you move the mouse).
