The difficulty spike in Chapter 13 Casualties is insane on Akumu o_O
good lord....

and I thought chapter 6 and 11 were brutal here comes 13 xDDD

what makes it brutal ?

-traps gallore !
-additional shotgun zombies
-you cant backstab Ruvik clones like you did on Survival
-did I mention a LOAD of traps ? xD
-annoying green rotator spike thingies -_- hate those sooo much....
-and the icying on the cake, have fun dealing with 3 instead of 2 Keepers in the meat locker room with loads of traps and the green disc spinning thingy xD
-ah and a ton of suicide zombies ^_^/

overall hardcore...
that stealth section with the Ruvik clones took me good 3 hours to get through lol

the only truly positive stuff I can say about chapter 13 on Akumu is that it will give you a ton of bolt parts but aside from that its such a torture, not fun at all :(

anyone else felt the pain ? :D

Not yet. I just beat the game on Survival and am tempted to skip Hard and jump right into Akuma mode.

DONT :| you will hit a brick wall in chapter 6 XD But if you can do it, you have my respect ! I posted a Akumu mode no upgrades and no keys guide in the guide section of this, check it out if you ever get stuck or ask me anything as I have mastered this game, cheers.

I skipped straight to Akumu from survivor so you should be fine! Chapter 6 is by far and away the worst chapter in terms of difficulty, absolutely recommend immediately upgrading your flashbolts as they are the only way I was able to clear the chapter start!

I didn't struggle too much with chapter 13 to be honest apart from that horrible horrible kitchen segment, but I'd saved up enough gel to immediately max out the magnum damage which helped with the keepers - in fact I only ever used it in conjunction with freeze bolts to make the boss fights incredibly easy! So yeah save up 75k gel before Chapter 11 :)

Are you still doing a no-upgrade Akumu run? Chapter 13 was pretty easy as I had upgraded to fire bolts by that time. Completely worth the gel.

upgrading your harpoon bolts to level 5 should one shot ruvik clones, even on akumu.

Alternatively, using a lightning bolt and then matches works as well IIRC, but I dunno if that works on akumu

yes, here is chapter 6... believe it or not I managed to kite those zombies in circle, my heart almost stopped in the second room as they were constantly on my back and one bad calculated sprint and they would grab me, I wont lie before I found out this method I was stuck for 6 hours on those two rooms alone...
good god... its hard once you survive those zombies on Akumu nothing willl stand in your way not even the gauntlet and the dual Keepers at the end ;) cheers

skip to 8:53 for the solution on how to survive those zombies. Once you learn the movement around the room you will outrun them just dont sprint so much ;) it will conserve all your ammo, also another pro advice is to shoot the barrel and stand behind them, the zombies will come rushing straight at you running into the barrel and go up in flames !

on my first playthrough the hardest parts were definitely chapter 6 and those two rooms, then chapter 11 that cage battle is no joke with those assault rifle zombies and chapter 13 was hardcore with those screaming ruvik clones and all that close quarter insanity. Chapter 14 was bearable even thou the Quell boss eats all your shotgun and magnum ammo before the gauntlet in chapter 15. The gauntlet can be done as it has checkpoints and I can instantly stun and burn those three fat zombies, standing behind them. The dual keeper fight was also not that bad I beat it on my fourth attempt or so, come with enough ammo and they will fall. The final boss is nothing xD once you down those two Keepers thats really about it :)

It is ok to skip to akumu after beating survival. Tho difficulty may depend on your playt style.

on survival if your as tactical as possible. conserving health and ammo as much as possible and getting through some of the chapters without losing any health and full ammo saved up. then the switch to akumu may not be to bad even with the added enemies since it fits this style of play.

as others have said - flash bolts upgraded make chapter 6 much easier, and the right preparation before other bosses/enemies makes akumu overall not so bad. the bombs on akumu are the only thing I hate lol. I know others can dissarm them easily, but I just can't though I keep trying.
