The Evil Within

**** You Chapter 10: The Craftman's Tools
All chapters were consistent in both difficulty and length,
The length issue started back at Chapter 5. I found Chapter 5 to be almost eternal in comparison to all the chapters before it. Then the pace picked up again in length until Chapter 8 , that was almost a mini episode (It's the one in the cave, before getting to the Mansion's Gate)

But nothing prepared me for the darkest, scariest, most tense Chapter this game had to offer.
The Craftman's Tools.

The Carousel Blades, The Snipers , The Dark Corridors, That invisible bomb that hits you when you're heading for the doors away from the Carousel of Doom. (Its the angle)

The Instakill Blade Swirl Traps / Heat Traps , The Instakill Moves, The Chase,
The Iron Gate with those two giants guarding it, the tension / stress that doesn't go away ever since you put that second battery until the chapter ends. The Laura Grabs, The atmosphere, the endlessness of it all. Think you're done once you got through with Laura? Maybe after the cutscene it will all be over.

Nope. Take this second boss fight bulletspong Analgam in a parking lot just for surprise.
If you did not conserve enough ammo or explosive bolts / previous trap parts be prepared to restart the chapter.

I liked this game but the reason I'd never play it again is because this chapter. I felt really victorious once it said "Chapter 10 completed".

The Evil Within; Chapters taking 2 hours (Chapter 10) while others take 10-20 mins (Chapter 8)

What are your thoughts on this chapter?

The bladed carosuel ticked me off minorly because i died one when a haunted grabbed me, but otherwise didn't mind that part.

The laura boss fight, $crew me, ticked me off to kingdom come. I'd always be SO close to the end, then get grabbed by her Sprint + Insta-kill move. That alone took me half an hour.

The giant dog thing was difficult, but once you knew what you were doing, was quite simple. Just dodge his sprinting attack, explosive crossbow/electric, attack, rinse and repeat. Or hide, shoot his eye, shoot weak spots, rinse and repeat.

if you think THAT was hard, wait until the rest of the chapters. You'll meet a very SPEICAL enemy, whom you will curse forever until this world ends. And some areas are just pure hell if you don't know what to expect.

The giant dog thing was easy to dodge if you stood close to corners outerwall corners, He doesn't have a good turn , its kinda like a blind spot. So he'd always miss you. (It took me time to figure that out, so I died like 5 times to him)

Well I'm in Chapter 11 and it certainly killed the vibe that Chapter 10 and Chapter 9 had placed.
Chapter 11 should've been Chapter 2. Very few games pull off "Daylight Terror" and certainly this game is not one of those games. Going through a daylight city and swimming away from a monster wasn't the chapter I was expecting.

Well I fought Doppelganger Ruvic. The first time he instakilled me until I tried shooting the Laura Claws, which instakill her then Doppelganger Ruvic was a piece of cake, and the newly S.W.A.T Haunted are easy too... just grab a shotgun and aim for the legs.

I just got to the second save point at the office building and left the game there.
