Survival is nothing in comparison and you're just a bit more then half trough the game.
It's not just harder and more enemies plus one hit kills(even from the bottle that joseph throws when you get his glasses) and less ammo. It's much more.
It's hard, but the unpredictability is the worst. And the BS, of course. Shots that "miss". Bolts that " miss". Enemies that dance-dodge, get up in 0.01s and "hit" you. Axes that defy physics and "hit" you. Uh.
On akumu mode you will notice all glitches, because you die in one hit every wrong move you do, kills you. Another BS is that zombies get stunned only if you throw bottles at their head, WHYY I remember this was no issue in RE4 but here get ready for frustration, and another problem is the zombie will come running straight at you, you cant see the whole blue trajectory line of the bottle because of the wide camera angle and black letterboxes, you dont have invincible frames in this game so... you either hit him with the bottle exactly on the head or you die ! You cant recover from the throwing animation and if you miss the throw, the zombie will kill you ! Thats BS right there ! I enjoy challening games but when the challenge is bound to stuff like that it just kills the fun. In Ninja Gaiden Black you are always in control, ALWAYS ! As long as you know the button combos, Ryu will always prform the moves no questions asked ! Here sometimes I have the feeling as I am batteling the controls and the game as matches wont burn zombies somtimes and picking up stuff from the floor is a gamble without invincible frames.
Battletoads and Silver Surfer are just out of this world hard for all the bad reasons but mostly due to very bad game design. Dark Souls is easy because you can just speedrun to the good gear at the beginning of the game and bypass a lot of BS. Ninja Gaiden Black is hard because you have to master the moves but once you do, you will own the enemies in that game, same goes to Devil may Cry 3 which I found way, way harder on Dante Must Die than Ninja Gaiden Black on Master.
Resident Evil 4 on professional is almost a joke compared to this on Akumu XD
The only game that comes close to this in its sheer scope of hardcoreness is dead space 2-3 on hardcore.... omfg especially dead Space 2 with its 3 saves and instakills.
As for the burning mechanic yeah the fire 'hitboxes' are pretty awful. Had 3 crawling AlterEgo on top of eachother, lit one and only two burned up.
