Evil Within and family sharing?

I was under the assumption that with family sharing, you get seperate achievements and save failes and all of that sort. My wife bought this game and installed it under her steam account. But when I go in to play it with my steam account (via shared games) it only lets me continue from where se left off, as if we are playing the same account. And if I were to make progress under my account, that progress is shared with her as well.

Is there something im missing? If this is what family sharing is suppsoed to do, than what's the point of it if I can't have my own save files?
