"fs_cachepath" to reduce stuttering
In your launch properties add the following:

+fs_cachepath "C:\TheEvilWithinCache"

Open up your C:\ drive and create a new folder called "TheEvilWithinCache". Of course feel free to put this folder anywhere as long as you change fs_cachepath so it points to that folder. Make sure the Cache folder is on the same HDD as the game.

This creates a large cache file that the game can use so it doesn't need to stream in so many textures on the fly all the time, it's reduced most of the stuttering, coupled with +R_swapinterval 0 I now play the game with a silky smooth framerate.

I'm surprised nobody's brought this up, since this is a known fix for reducing stuttering in both RAGE and Wolfenstein: The New Order, which both use the idTech engine.

Hope this helps!

Well, I'll give it a try. I'll tell later if I find it worth it. But, that seems weird though IMO

Thanks. Will try it. But will it increase texture pop-in, in exchange for a smoother framerate?

It's nearly removed texture pop in for me, I only really noticed it once in one cut scene so far

Texture pop-in has reduced, but the audio is stuttering even more. It seems you can't win with this crappy game engine.
