The game is apparently not loading anything (at least nothing that fixes the white hair) at the main menu, so I think the game still would have at least the same amount of time there before starting, even before loading a game, so at the very least there would have been a less annoying solution. I wonder whether that 'bug' is on purpose, to force us through the video every time.
Well, it worked when replacing it with the smallest file (355kb). It is still taking it's time (the video is shorter, but not sure whether the game is starting faster), but it's a lot less annoying.
Hmm, it didn't work the first time, but now "+com_skipIntroVideo 1" as a starting option works to skip the intro. I must have gotten it wrong the first time.

As I said above, you can skip the intro with "+com_skipIntroVideo 1" instead in case you removed that and that's what's causing the problem.
