On the subject of using matches
What is the point of burning fallen enemies witht the matches? Is it just to get rid of the body to not alreat any other monsters?

Any enemy you kill, you want to burn them, because they wil most likely get back up. Also random bodies on the ground have a chance of coming up as well so dont take any chances just burn every body you see. Although i do not know the reason for burning the haystacks

if you don't burn their bodies they might return. essentially, you didn't kill them permanently, unless you burn them.

if theres a downed enemy and you get attacked, torch it and any other ones near it living or dead go up too, its a good trap.

The haystacks sometimes have loot underneath them :)

They also can be used as weapons, for say if you cant fight a enemy just lure them to a haystack, use match = ??? PROFIT!

Can they get up regardless of how you killed them, though? I'm wondering if a stealth kill or a critical headshot would be different compared to a standard bodyshot/ melee kill.

Well I've noticed that if you don't light an enemy on fire after they are downed, the body disappears anyway. I'm assuming the matches are more for bodies you come across that were already dead. Not the ones you killed. I still have yet to have an enemy get back up after I've killed it.

I'm starting to think critical headshot kills don't get up afterward. I killed 99% of the enemies with headshots, and the last 2 that I didn't got back up. As for stealth kills I don't know.

From what I've experienced, enemies will only return if their heads are still intact. Destroying their heads kills them permanently. Also, if they don't get up within 6 seconds of being downed, they won't get up forever. It is better to stomp them (like Dead Space) than waste matches unless there is a pile of bodies.
