Can't play full screen
Everytime I load full screen the resolution doesn't scale properly and is zoomed way in cutting off all but the upper left section.

I have 2 monitors (1 for play lg ultrawide and 1 for browsing). I tried disconnecting the second to no avail.

I tried multiple resolutions (mostly 1920x1080 or 2560x1080).

I tried closing and reopening the game several times.

I give up. This is without a doubt a game programmed for a console... *sigh*

I'm not sure what GPU you have. I'm using an AMD 7850 and was having the same problem. I turned GPU Scaling on in Catalyst and problem sovled. I hope this helps.
exactly same problem here, i have Titan and my Samsung smart TV 55" as display.. game is zoomed and i can not see right side of screen while in 1080 full screen mode.. i know this game has cinematic black border but without full screen it's really unplayable for me.. i hope someone know how to fix this issue :(

that solved the issue....

TY! That worked disabling scaling

I couldnt do the above settings as my PC wouldn't let me tick the boxes for the above method so I have another fix. The problem is that the default Windows text has been enlarged so go to Control Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Display. Now select 'Smaller - 100% (default). This will fix it although your text in windows will be small now.

Easiest way to describe is via the steam app however there are otherways to accomplish.

From steam library right click the game > click properties.
Click Local files tab.
Click "Browse local files"
Scroll down in the explorer to find "EvilWithin.exe" and right click it.
Click compatibility tab.
Near the bottom you'll see "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings."
Check that box.
Press okay or apply and you are done.

I feel like the fix for this is super simple, but I just can't find it through Google. For some reason the Setting in the Compatibility tab are all grayed out to me so I can't check the boxes.
Changing the size of the text does fix it, but it's not exactly convenient. ;-;

Same issue here. I can't check any of these boxes. Any help would be appreciated. At this point i feel that i was presented with a piece of crap. I shouldn't have to troubleshoot an hour before actually playing the game...

i dont know if it will fix your issues, but flawless widescreen is worth a shot and works easily.

Sorry no luck there.. The solution "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings." Seems to be a good idea but i am unable to check this box to disable. Could this be some administrative issue i'm running into? I'm pretty much blocked from making any changes in the properties. Thanks

i think you may need to make sure you have administrator priveliges. Check your user account settings

My user account is good. I tested this on other files like Skyrim and Portal 2 no problem. The Evil Within is the only file i'm unable to make any changes to.
