Chapter 4: Key in corpse problem (Also, a comment on lack of instruction)

I'm in Chapter 4 and I just found the good doctor's brother cutting open a corpse. Easy kill with a bottle I found to the head and two more pistol shots. I saw the X-ray with the keys in the corpse and walk up to the corpse and pull out my knife. I quickly found that you use WASD to move the location of the knife but for the love of God, I have push every key on my keyboard and nothing will make him cut into the corpse. Any help on this is much appreciated.

PS. I'm all for spending time figuring things out for myself but the instruction in this game for some of the more important things is so minimal it make me want to punch through my monitor.

On the table behind the corpse, there's a hint to where you need to cut. You won't be able to cut until you're around the right area, at least for this mini puzzle.

Yeah I found the X-ray and got my knife in that general location. I'm trying to figure out which key actually starts the cutting process.

Should be the space bar. Hit escape go into options and check all the keyboard commands. No offense intended, but why don't people check all of the controls before asking?

I understand that the space bar is the default action button and tried using it to cut. I guess I didn't have the knife hovering in the perfect place.
