I also have a high quality 1000 watt psu that was professionally installed as well.
When you say bluescreen, are you talking about an actual BSOD or literally just a blue image on your HDTV?
@iLLcAtTiViSsiMo: It`s a blue image on my HDTV. What`s interesting is now when the blue image comes on I keep going to different inputs on the tv and I go back to the PC input again and I see the Evil Within game on screen but only for 1 second and then it goes back to the blue image. I will try launching the game in Big Picture mode.
Try rolling back on drivers and not use the (beta) drivers. Beta drivers are just that "beta" there for testing purposes really. Most don't have problems with them, but i never use them. I use to have my old rig connected to a TV with no issues at all. But i play on a monitor now though.
Are you able to even get on your desktop? I'm sure you are but you didn't mention it. So basically you only get a blue screen when you launch the game?
Yes, I can get on my desktop. When I launch the game the screen goes to black to blue. The power is still on the computer. When I hit the power button to shut the computer off it shows an icon of the game and an icon of Steam both in the running programs task box. Then the computer shuts down. I`m more ttechnologically inclined than I might sound. Sorry if my gibber jabber is confusing.
Well I took out the R9 290X XFX 8GB video card and I installed a GTX 970 SSC 4GB card into the computer and I am still just getting a blank screen. The funny thing is I have another computer it`s a Dell i7 4790 XPS8700 in the kitchen. It has a GTX 745 4GB video card and it plays The Evil Within just fine. So I bought a 25ft HDMI to HDMI cable and plug it into my Dell PC to my HDTV tv and it works that way. I still don`t understand why it does not play the game on my Cyberpower PC. But at least I can still play the game on my other PC. Again, I just wish I knew why I couldn`t on my Cyberpower PC. I guess that may remain an unsolved mystery. Thanks guys for helping me with your suggestions. I appreciate it. :)
Also check the graphic driver control panel's scaling settings. It is possible it is a scaling/resolution issue. Depending on the configuration it may be rendering something your TV isn't capable of displaying.
I finally figured out the problem. I was using a HDMI switcher hub and I had my PC hooked up to one of the inputs on the hub.
So I removed the HDMI switcher hub and just plugged the PC into a HDMI input on the back of my tv and BOOM...the game now works.
Not sure if anyone else uses a HDMI switcher hub but I notice while I am using a input while using the hub, my tv screen goes black for a few seconds and then the screen returns back to what I was watching on it. Has anyone else experienced problems using a ac powered HDMI hub?
I think the problem is lag.
