Full priced Resident Evil rip-off

Ok so this game looks fantasticly good, but for full price, I mean what makes it better then getting a $40 Resident Evil game. So tell me what you guys think, and if you played it Gamescon then tell me what you think. Thanks.

I see your point, but its just unoriginality and again still almost exactly like Resident Evil just with more gore.

While I enjoyed Resident Evil 6 I think the only reason it came to PC at $40 was because it had received such negative reviews. Further when Revelations came out it was full price.

I know that, but RE6 was hyped and known, not just a new a action game that hopes people will be scared to death by some gore.

My favorite Gamescom video of Evil Within so far. Yeah hes speaking in German, but games audio is still in english and hes actually a decent gamer.

Still I would rather get another Resident Evil, they are making one right? Please say they are, btw I play most games on console and semi recently got more into pc gaming

You don't really seem to have any idea why this game came about, who its from or who its appealing to.

This game is from Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil who worked on the series up until RE 4 and REmake (which is awesomely getting a Steam release early next year). Many fans of the RE franchise felt the series became too action oriented after 4. Mikami is attempting to return to the survival horror roots with Evil Within.

Mikami has nothing to do with Capcom anymore. This game is published under Bethesda by Mikami's new studio Tango Games and it has no effect on when a new Resident Evil will be released. Is the survival horror genre so saturated that you can't stand the idea of another game in a similar style coming out? If nothing else Capcom may see the things this game does right and try and return Resident Evil to it's Survival Horror roots.

capcom did say in future titles they will aim to target their hardcore fanbase , so maybe we might see more of a return to the classic style res games , less action and more survival horror and atmosphere .
