how to beat the chapter 10 boss?
i can get him into phase 2 where he tries to eat me, but then

* sebastian has zero endurance so i can't run away successfully
* out of sniper ammo which seems to be the only weapon that does significant damage
* out of hiding places
* no idea of progress
* no idea where to hit. i assume i need to eat the center/mouth/eye, but i don't how know often/with what
* get near to boss = instant death

Mmm I beat him on akumu using the sniper to hit his eye phase 1 then hitting em with like explosive bolts/shotgun. You can also freeze em with frost bolts or stun him using the explosive barrels lying around. I think shock bolts work to but I haven't used em on the fight. His eye is his weak point but I pretty much explosive bolted em to death.

Any weapon you have does damage. The sniper is already a pretty powerful gun so one shot is obviously going to do more then the handgun or shotgun, but you can't just rely on one weapon. Keep your disstance and hit em with what you can. Remember to run around and grab the ammo lying around if you need it during phase one as phase 2 doesn't give you much free running.

I had no upgrades in any of his character skills. Only weapon upgrades.

Just freeze him with freeze bolt and rifle the hell out of his eye and bombs when he goes super Saiyan blue...idk run shot grenades , make sure u keep ur distance

is there a way to get more ammo without replaying the chapter? i might be able to kill it if i had enough freezing bolts and sniper ammo/greades, but i start the fight with only one of them + sniper ammo

also, stealth doesn't work. he destroys the pillars, finds me under cars etc.

and once he goes level 2, how can i escape? i can hide nowhere (rooms are used up) and have basically just 2-3 shots before he reaches me. 3 sniper hits are not enough.

the game really should give me some feedback. i have no idea which weapon does how much damage and where i need to hit the guy. now, i don't know why, he transformed ealier than usual, far away from me, and 2 sniper shots where enough to end phase 2.

Do you have trap parts? If so, you can craft some extra freeze bolts.

I was wondering this. Loads of people starting these kind of threads never mention their trap part count and I always think it's a sign they don't know about crafting.

Here's some rough damage stats the guy asked for, multiply the numbers by your upgraded damage stat.

pistol-1
shotty-2
harpoon-2
sniper-5
explosive bolt-5
grenade-6

now i'm stuck in chapter 11 in the room behind kidman. i have ONE shot with the shotgun and two trap pieces. the room has 7 or so zombies. what were the designers thinking? let's annoy everybody who ever comes here without enough ammo?

i actually managed it. i lured them into my electricity trap and burned them with matches one after the other. but what do you do if you really don't have ammo? replay the chapter?

You can stealth that bit. Thank you for listing your trap parts. I tend to use the wall bomb but I don't know if that's there on survival. Good job coming up with an effective strategy!

how can i stealth it? i have to kill all the zombies in order to get kidman to open the door

In order to stealth kill a zombie you crouch behind it and then stab it in the brain using the action button, it's silent so unless you are spotted no other zombies will attack you.

At that part if you wait five seconds the enemies would go off into individual patrol routes and you can take them on one at a time in stealth. What's more you have to fight less zombies that way because you spawn more if you get spotted. Don't get spotted, don't fight extra zombies.

Enemies don't come back to life if you don't burn them. Matches are purely for instant killing enemies that have fallen over. Matches have an area effect that kills multiple enemies nearby when you use them. One match can kill many zombies. Shoot a zombie in the leg to make it fall down. Using this information effectively will save you so much ammo in the long term.

To be fair, I never realized that you can stealth kill the dudes harrassing Kidman either. Will try that out one day. Something I learned only recently about that section is how easy it is to just bypass the three breaking through the big door and the guy with the machine gun: If you just immediately run around the obstacles/crates clockwise and then leave through the door while Kidman is still shooting at those three intruders, you will be down the stairs before the machine gunner has taken position. It's consistent too, no danger at all. Kidman will join you again somewhat later outside. She's not even pissed that you ran. :-)

I've never done it myself but I knew from looking it was possible, I actually ran the chapter again to check for certain and yes it can be stealthed.

That must be a speed run thing but on some runs I think I could use that, thanks. I'd want to check for item drops too much to leave normally.

Yeah, it is. Before I came interested in speedruns of some of my favorite survival horror games, I always thought these guys were mainly into exploiting glitches/skips, but I found that they often come up with strats that are very fitting for challenge runs too. This might not be exactly one of them because it would be out of character for Seb to just leave Kidman behind. :-)

But she's trying to steal away Joseph from Seb and he's very passsive aggressive.
