Question about difficulty and New Game +
Can you finish the game on normal and then play again on new game + with all your weapons/ammo/map fragments but on hard difficulty?
I know you can change difficulty at any time but I am not sure if changing it right when you start new game + with all your gear from previous LP gonna count towards achievement.
I like new game + idea with keeping your items but not really interested in replaying whole game on the same diffculty.

ie. a nightmare diff completed save can do casual, survival, or nightmare in ng+, but not Akumu.

That suck. I like when the game allows you to play on harder difficulty on NG+ like Dark Souls for example. In my opinion its just not really worth it to play same game on same difficulty twice in row.

Nightmare and Akumu do change up enemy encounters (for instance Ruvik clones show up as early as chapter 3).

And yeah it does suck some but I can see what the devs were thinking. They didn't want to undermine the difficulty.

To be fair I think it would be cool if giving slight advantage with additional guns, ammo and upgrades from previous LP to finish such hard difficulty as Akumu was a think.
If that was a thing I would be glad to play it again in row.

Heck, it would be cool if it was a thing and it was actualy advised to do due Akumu difficulty being so harsh.
Just small reward for doing harder difficulty LP after LP in row but its just my opinion.

I can play hard in Evil Within 1 but Akumu is a bit too much for me. Just idea of one one hit death is not fun for me. Trials and errors, forcing to do cheap tactics, stealth almost 99% of the time and lot of time spend on loading screens due game over. I just don't find this challenging, fair or fun. Yeah, I am gonna skip on that.

Thanks for help tho.

I thought (and even posted) the same when I was first playing this game - I was used to the other system from RE4/5/6. However, later I came to appreciate what Mikami has done here. In the other system, people could always cheese the difficulties by upgrading to the brim before upping the difficulty - and then they often complained about the games being too easy.

Let me assure you that nightmare difficulty plays very different - it's totally worth it to master the game on the higher difficulty levels.
Pretty sure RE4 is more like TEW1, I don't remember being able to carry anything to professional on the first go.
