"The errors detected during Test 13, albeit exposed only in extreme memory access cases, are most certainly real errors. During typical home PC usage (eg. web browsing, word processing, etc.), it is less likely that the memory usage pattern will fall into the extreme case that make it vulnerable to disturbance errors. It may be of greater concern if you were running highly sensitive equipment such as medical equipment, aircraft control systems, or bank database servers."
I dont think that would cause The Evil Within to not play though? I'm not sure. I dont really understand the error. You can read the entire thing here https://www.memtest86.com/troubleshooting.htm
I guess my next thing to try is uninstall the game, clean the registry, restart my pc then install the game again. I guess if that doesnt work I'll get new RAM.
Running i7 6700k, GTX 1070, 16 GB RAM.
Tried updating my Nvidia drivers to no avail.
I verified file integrity, uninstalled and re-downloaded. No change.
EDIT- found the culprit on my end- it was Afterburner. Turned it off and now the game runs. The strange thing is that Afterburner was on last night with no issues. Same thing happened to Dishonored 2- stopped working until Afterburner was disabled dispite the fact that I've played 40+hours previously with it enabled.

After typing all that I am now convinced "Service" is spelled wrong constantly.
Maybe kill corsair utility engine as well for good measure.
Looking over your error code again unless you have some data corruption (unlikely) or failing hardware (doubt it), something is interferring with the game process causing instability. Unfortunately these days like everything under the sun injects itself into running processes so it's a pain to troubleshoot. Security, optional utilities, and hardware suites are the usual suspects though (for instance Razer's garbage software is 9/10 times the cause of problems for people that use it).
my event viewer:
i also have no idea what it means
specs are:
4930k
RIVBE
16Gb Gskill Trident X @ 2800 11-14-14-35(XMP)
290x crossfire
AX1200i
512Gb 840 pro
Win10 home 64
i have tried all the solutions you have
no freakin' joy
i am about to try with afterburner off, as that was one i hadnt tried yet
i might try bringing the RAM back to its SPD of 1600 11-11-11-28 if that doesnt work
apart from a couple of issues where it started on the wrong screen, and the mouse movement was shockingly bad, it seemed to run thru the first chapter fine
when you uninstalled AB, did you uninstall the riva tuner statistics server as well? if thats still there it is quite possibly the problem
i apologise for having mine fixed so easily!
