Game peaked at Bellerian
reinstalled the game today to give it another shot and... realized that attacking her while she does the summoning animation interrupts her even if she has a shield on :):):)

Tip for people struggling with her :

I am a dedicated GS SLAM build, so keep that in mind - it might not work for you.

She has a pretty big weakness.
Tap L3 to dash and immediately swift attack to just shoulder barge her. She will stun. Now do it again. And again. And again. And again. And again
.YES.

I got through 2 full Brutal strikes this way before I fell out of rhythm and lost it because I was laughing too hard.
Done just earlier this morning, like ten hours ago?

I actually laughed that this got through the playtesters into the live game.

Does it work with spear? She keeps calling forth that big floating guy with the endless combo while dogs and what not are attacking you.

Every nest boss gets just more and more annoying. :steamfacepalm:

I will give you the same tip I gave that guy before he uninstalled his game. She summons skulls above her head before summoning a spirit. The number of skulls determine the strength of the spirit summoned. Initially when she teleports away and summons fog - that's the start of the summon. Just through a javelin at her and she will get interrupted. Later on you will likely be near enough to smack her with the weapon.
Just make sure you either don't let her summon her bubble shield or break it asap. Javelins don't work if she is inside

That better be working because i cant believe how crap this fight is.

- the summons can be super easy or super bad, so you just need luck which is alway bad
- if she summons the big guy i just give up
- sometimes she teleports too far away mto interrupt the bubble
- there are way too many effects and spell around
- she summons way too quick in a row and does not really enter her normal fight pattern again

The fight itself without the summons would be actually pretty fun. But that big guy at least really ruins it.

But having adds in a boss fight is always crap and this fight is no exception.

I almost had her last time and the big guy showed up again.

At this point i dont even know why i wanna beat her. The game already feels like a chore, levels and bosses.

I might just drop it. It's just not fun.

But thx for the advice.

If she summons three big dudes when she has only 1 skull, they just attack once and disappear. The attack is easy to dodge and after that she tries to attack you and opens herself up for a smack.
If she has 2-4 skulls, she summons either wolfs or archers. All of them die in one hit and can be taken care of while fighting her.
Stronger ones are a bit of a nuisance, but you should never let her have 8 skulls and summon a reaper. There is always a poping sound when she summon skulls, so you can always hear it.

I have no idea how this is supposed to work, or what the timing is. She summons either way.

I might just trow it in the bin.

I'm sure a decent amount of players want to bump her anyway.

as soon as you see her prepping, throw a javlin. If she still summons - you either missed or are too slow. Or you are just standing there doing nothing and she is going into the second iteration

Well no idea what that timing was supposed to be but she is down. I beat her by being aggressive and getting lucky with the summons.

The fact that you can interrupt the summons and that this is the advice people give proves it's garbage design, which it is.

Having adds in a fight with well enough spells is just crap. One of them being a boss itself basically.

The bubble is also crap because sometimes you need to heal and she will just do it then. Feels almost like input reading or i got bad luck idk. Or she will just teleport too far way. The bubble on it's own is not too bad but in combination with the summons it gets way worse.

If you ask me this is just a cheap fight and i dont think i can do Ozma. Forum seems to hate him XD

EDIT: i just checked my shadow play. I hit her once with the throw after she teleported to "prep" like you say. But maybe it was too early? idk. Never gonna fight her again, even tho i beat her with 3 potions left in that firght :D

I don't really disagree about her design, but that's irrelevant. You gotta hit her when she starts popping skulls. It's very obvious when she does that. Let the smoke out, prep the javelin, zoom in, and as soon as one pops, hit her. Being very aggressive is basically the answer to every boss in the game. The game wants and rewards hyper aggressive play.

I mean the summons would not be too bad if they were just minor stuff, or she would be a bit less annoying while the summons are there.

But strong summons and a lot of spells and her attacking at the same time is just a bit over the top imo.

And even with high stamina, stamina pills and A agility you still can't really keep up with her. It's another boss that would be better if you would not need to look for your stamina.

Like you say. It's meant te be played super aggressive, which i like. But the game does not really let you run free so to speak.

Anyway. Time to call it a night.

If you just make her move before she gets 6 skulls she will never summon the reaper, I've beaten the game twice with Dual blades, and once with spear, she has never summoned reaper on me after the initial fight.

This is 100% how i felt after i realized that you can interrupt her EVEN IF SHE HAS THE BUBBLE SHIELD ON. It just makes no sense. Game literally tells you "ok, see how she doesn't get staggered when she has a shield on? You can't interrupt her attacks while she has the shield on!" and then does a random 180 when it comes to her summoning animation.

This game in general has inconsistent staggers (like sometimes attacking an enemy mid animation staggers them, sometimes they power through), but this inconsistency just makes no sense. Why does she get interrupted when she has a shield on when she is doing that specific thing...
