I'm not talking about the Phamton shift ability, I;m talking about the Phantoms you can switch between at the swords.
The Phantoms you switch between at any sword give you certain stat buffs. Two of them give the player buffs to their stamina and regen, and they level up as you play with them equiped. So if you need more stamina check on them to see if you have the right one selected.
Attacks that use spirit don't use stamina, so the more of them you use, the more stamina you're left with for other stuff. In the common section of the skill tree there are passives that give extra spirit from attacking/bring dodging/brink guarding/taking damage/brutal attacking from behind.
Brink guarding makes your stamina start regenerating immediately and attacking stops it for a short time. It can be better to simply not attack in a short opening and allow your stamina to fully regen than to attack in a short opening and end up without full stamina in a bigger opening.
I found stamina was a constant issue earlier on, but now that I'm 3/4 through the game it's not a big deal and I've finally switched away from Keshta in favour of trying out other phantoms.

It reminds me of Dark Souls 2 where you come across a 0.5 meter tall wall between you and your goal and you cannot climb over it so you decide to kill the 4 Lords and use their souls to open a gate that leads the same way
You can assign various Phantoms to Khazan that give him passive buffs. Keshta increases your stamina regen, Veronica increases damage dealt by a summoned Spirit of Advocacy, etc.
Ah. Thx. I thought you mean like the sword you are using :D
Yea i have Kasha equipped. So he gives you passively more stamina?
It's not something you have to activate in a fight?
My stamina still seem like dog popo tho and i'm on A agility. I kinda get the idea but it still feels super restricted. In the Rankgus fight there is so little room for error in that long fight. I played almost all Soulslike games and it feels kinda off. Even more so, so early in the game.
Also all bosses get some super hard movestets at the end. Like that guys fire moves that can kill you instantly.
Maybe i'm just getting old. I mean other bosses in other games still took me way longer, like Genishiro which is a mid game boss. Maybe we just become complacent with time and this game is the first one in a while that really poses a challange and where you actually really need to be carefull because you get punished for every mistake.
This... is a very good point, one I had not considered.
Yes. This. This makes sense to me!
