Might be to prevent the game from collecting information.
Game uses Denuvo so I don't see how it's possible to play it offline.
But you might be right at, that it could be something they forgot to remove OR maybe a future feature? Like in Dark Souls where you can summon other players or maybe get invaded?
I have tried to reached out to the devs, both on their Discord and on X but no response - I'm just really curious
people really just believe anything they read don't they. everyone always repeat the "kills the life span of SSDs" but that's a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Denuvo is a sketchy ass product, but it does NOT have 99% of the issues that constantly get vomited out by "skeptics".
I've been gaming for over 30 years, have played 100s of denuvo games and I've never had drive die. It's just a straight up myth to scare people.
And yes they collect system data but beyond them selling the same data that literally everyone else sells, there's pretty much 0 evidence that it's any more or less malicious than literally anything else on the market.
I mean, believe what you want to believe, trust what you want to trust, be skeptical. But the "waaahhhhhh it's denuvo waaaahhhh" ♥♥♥♥ is getting old. Ya'll are parrots.
Edit: this thread also has nothing to do with denuvo lol, it's about the extremely limited multiplayer features. The ghosts you can summon to fight are almost definitely this game's equivalent of another player's bloodstains, that's why they almost exclusively appear in dangerous areas. :p
actually its true and you shouldn't run any games on your SSD and should be the drive for your OS. I didn't read any of your rant sorry just a bit when I realized it was probably based on zero facts but okay i hope it made you feel better lol
