Amazing news - it looks like the soundtracks app will download the soundtrack to your music folder on your compuer. THIS IS INCREDIBLE

I do not know of the quality of the music but this alone is HUGE

Did you buy the 35th edition version? If you did make sure you’re not automatically launching the main game in the game properties in steam

So the weird thing in my opinion, is that the soundtracks (the anniversary one and the game one) are about 2 GB each, while the MP3 are around 400MB each. So either there are less compressed files for the player apps, or the player apps are quite bloated.

The download to disk even works on Proton - the soundtracks are saved to "${STEAM_LIBRARY}/steamapps/compatdata/2679460/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Music/METAPHOR_APP/".

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\METAPHOR\Artbook\
folder opens up the game :(

Ok - solved it
Right click on the Game in Seam -> Properties -> General -> Select Launch Option
Let's you select what you start if pushing Play on Steam
If you have the Collectors Edition DLC you have the option to start the Artbook, 35 aniversary or M:RF Ost
Than a music player app starts with the question if you want to download the files
