No Anti-aliasing or DLSS
The art style for Metaphor: ReFantazio looks great but the shimmering is really bad and having to run the game at 200% resolution tanks my performance.
The devs really need to add an anti-aliasing solution or Dlss to the final release asap.

I'll give that a shot.

What exactly did you change in the settings? There are so many options and i am not sure what are the right ones to choose,

Nvidia control panel , program settings add Metaphor , Anisotropic filtering 16x,AA mode override any application, AA settings 8x. I'm still trying stuff , AA Fxaa on and off to see if it looks better

This one, it looks much better even at 100%

Thank you! Deactivating the shaking camera also works wonders. By the way, amazing job they did with the last patch, the game runs now at stable 60 FPS for me.

Game is CPU limited anyway, no point of using DLSS.

It's actually not. I can run on GPU, just that for a while, it defaulted to CPU. This has since been fixed in the demo, and even before the fix, it could be fixed easily on user end just by messing with a few settings out of game.

I mitigated this for the most part by running the game windowed 1080p and then upscaling to 1440 with Lossless Scaling

Oooh, I didn't think of that, I should try the same with the Adrenalin software.

Edit: Unfortunately for me, forced AA through Adrenalin doesn't seem to help much, mainly the stuff in the background still looking rough. (even when I crank it up to 200% resolution scale it still doesn't look great)

I agree. The game needs some form of AA or DLSS. A 4090 draws 80-120w when the game runs at 2560x1440 but to remove the shimmer you need a 200% render scale and that makes the card run with 370w.

Forcing AA through the Nvidia control doesn't work. Don't be getting you hopes up that Atlus will add it later. We are lucky that we have gotten two patches already.

It's not about performance but IQ.
The whole screen flickers like crazy as no Temporal AA is deployed what so ever.
