Oh no!
Anyway.
Not really sure what you're referring to regarding "Translators changed companion's personality." The only arguments I've seen for that have made a poor case that only takes single lines out of context or other dialogue & vocal performances.
Also, you're really missing out by not playing Unicorn Overlord. It's fantastic (from the English only perspective, as I cannot read or speak Japanese).
Same goes for the subject of censorship, which is also just a tiny fraction now compared to what it was back then.
As things have improved more and more, the amount of whining has simultaneously increased. I just find it impossible to take seriously,
I've heard about Unicorn Overlord that there were changed motivations for some characters which also changed the logic of the story. But don't know how important these changes for the game in general.
I can't speak to any of that, as I'm unable to interpret the original text without the assistance of a translator (and even machine translation is going to miss nuance delivered via context and inflections/tones).
However, I can say the story and characters presented in English are great and I've certainly not observed any motivation or story logic inconsistencies. The dialogue feels natural and is well delivered by the VO performers. I would say the game is well localized.
Well we do live in a world where corporations run everything, so why not take it a step further and fully let them silence any criticism. They already do a pretty good job of it as is on most online platforms. Who needs freedom or a voice am I right? Just buy the product like a good consumer, pay your taxes even if it's to fund war, and don't speak out about anything.
I've been an Atlus fan for a really long time too. Having learned that this was butchered by "translators" inserting their own headcanon and fantasies I am no longer willing to ever buy this game. Because I know 100% for sure that these "translators" never get fired for doing literally a bad job for their own ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles rather than be a professional in the industry of translations, which I CAN'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WAIT FOR IT TO BE ENTIRELY REPLACED BY AI IF THAT'S THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE TO THIS.
Stay strong, good people, and remember to keep voicing that these "translators" need to be BLACKLISTED ASAP for the sake of a healthy gaming future.
Totally agree
You can just ignore this cowardly sophist.
So anyway...
Just wait for the inevitable un-woke translations from basedmods like they did for Eiyuden Chronicles. Buy third party if you have to. (Or the other route.)
No, it is not accurate, sophist.

No one here is falling for your sophistry, coward.
I guess someone on X has directed their gaze towards this game.
