This game looks so "safe", bland, and boring
It's like they made the game to be as safe and tried to not offend anything at all costs. No sexual content, no slavery (should be there in fantasy genre), no darkish politics, no risky content whatsoever. Even the characters look so bland and wearing dull outfits while having dull personalities.

It's hard to believe it's from the dev team of Persona, SMT, and Catherine. Is this the result of them listening to the western fans who've been complaining about risky content in Persona for years? Now it's finally affecting their game design choices?

What's sadden me the most is that it seems to happen to all the other JRPG franchises like Kuro no Kiseki, Tales of Arise, Final Fantasy XVI, and Atelier Yumia. It's like nobody wants to go out of the safe zone anymore, and all games are just bland, so that they don't offend someone.

Modern JRPGs are like that. Bland character with bland personality in bland costumes that covering them up from head to toes, going on a bland adventure to fight against bad guys who are just bad guys or some plot twists that they're not really bad guys but they just know some secret of the world that you don't.

Oh and don't forget to buy the alternate outfits DLCs that will put you in different costumes that cover you up from head to toes anyway.

"No sexual content, no slavery (should be there in fantasy genre), no darkish politics, no risky content whatsoever."

How would you know all this?

And make sure that all the playable female characters are the older strong woman with stoic/emotionless personality (Lightning, Shionne, Kisara) that are gonna bore you for the entire story.

Characters like Vanille, Rikku, Magilou, Yoshizawa Kasumi, Takamaki Ann, are banned.

OP is making a lot of assumptions, wouldn't take him too seriously

FFXVI is literally the opposite of being safe, it's gory and sexy.

Why though? What is so interesting about slavery it needs to be in every game / book / movie / series that has fantasy elements?

Really, Kuro - the game with the hot chicks who are semi nude, featuring Aaron who is more unhinged than anyone I have seen in any JRPG ever where people casually commit mass murder and torture people, you visit a strip club, you have sex slaves turned assassins in the series that depicted child sex slavery before that and has child soldiers - that is your example of a game taking no risks?

Also, tales of Arise is literally in its entirety about slavery. Literally - people are cruelly enslaved among racial lines and exploited and murdered and you fight against it.

This game (Metaphor) will be about a political election with the protagonist vying for power, with the usual underclass.

I think OP is either not serious, or what he means is sexual slavery.

This is either an bait post or this guy is just really that dumb. Most of these things are there if you just watch trailers and game play.

How are you guys even entertaining this discussion? This post doesn't make any sense lol

Yeah I have no idea why he threw FFXVI under the bus when it does indeed have "darkish politics" along with slavery and sexual content... And the slavery bit ties in to one of the sadder side quests as well.

I think OP doesn't know what he is going on about. Clearly did not play FFXVI and obviously outside of the demo that just dropped, no one on here has played Metaphor lol

I am going to request to all Steam users who come across this thread to just let the thread die here. No more comments. Do not feed this stupidity.
