Strohl Bond 3 bugged?

Okay, so, I had his bond available, but opted for other stuff, expecting to be able to do it later. Now he isn't having the Bond 3 conversation available anywhere and I'm already at 07/08 and at the point where you have 12 days for yourself.

bond 3 doesn't have any specific requirement, do you mean bond 4?

you'd have to be actively traveling on the gauntlet runner.

No, I mean Bond 3. He is currently Rank 2.

It might have something to do with him and the redhead having the speech bubbles about going to the castle and dealing with the issue there.

have you gotten your travel warp menu yet? you might need to be able to be in grand trad in that one.

if you do you might be right about a bug, which sucks

Well, ye, i'm well past the warp. I got the 4th party member, but haven't done the story dungeon past that, which is, I guess, what blocks redhead & Strohl.

During story the partymember Bonds arent available. There's also some other limitations but im not sure on what they are. Strohl in particular has some issues with availability after the first city. I managed to get 4th party member up to rank 4 while he is still at 3.

If you open the followers screen you can see if he has a bond available (and teleport straight there from the screen).

You have to speak to him in Sunlumeo street to trigger that bond. If you teleport to grand trad you should see him standing near the coach park if it's available.

This is bugged for me as well.

People keep saying you have to teleport to Grand Trad - he's not there. The option to bond with him came up a looooong time ago when I first got to Martira. I opted to do a couple other things first, then the option never came back.

He used to show the icon that he was ready and waiting to talk to you in the first day in Martira then after that it never came back. I have travelled all sorts of places now - back and forth to Grand Trad, teleporting, riding to other dungeons and such, nothing ever brought that option back.

I've had Maria pop up like 4 times to rank up, the Merchant lady like 4 times, other people as well.... but Strohl seems perma-stuck at Rank 2.

I've looked everywhere on Sunluemo Street as some suggested and have come up with nothing. :(

Update. I guess not a real/showstopper bug.... just very odd design.

To recap, if you go to Martira and get the option to take Strohl from 2 to 3 and ignore it for a couple days in a row, while chasing down various other bounties and such... you can lose the ability to progress him. It basically gets stuck (even though you're able to progress just about everyone else just fine).

What ended up fixing this for me was simply doing the main quest in Martira... I won't spoil it, but basically follow the main quest (instead of doing what I like to do and clearing out minor/subquests first), and it will re-unlock the ability to bond with Strohl.
