You might enjoy western developed games more.
To me it looks kind of like they were going for a female protagonist, but changed to a male midway through development and they didn't want to change the design too much.
It could also just be racial trait as someone suggested.
I don't really mind it though.
Why are they splitting hairs? If they want a female protag then they should just do it. Does this style appeal to anyone except hentai artists and a specific type of female fan?
The normal person who isn't extreme and can appreciate a normal wide eyed protagonist.
It's those eyes that make those "butt the fck in" social links looks natural.
