Is this game too over the top design-wise?
First off, i mostly like the aesthetics and designs. But it feels like 25% over produced.

I feel like you would be able to ..appreciate it more, or let it sink in more if everything wasn't screaming at you on the screen all the time. The over saturation colors, the moving dialog boxes and fading/blurring borders, the ...UI, the menus, ..the MUSIC. I mean I like the music, but its like sometimes i would really like something so much more subtle..calm or...just a break, its almost overkill of stimulation.

I think the ambition and design is mostly there, but its like..you dont have to over do it.

I must disagree. I think the hard lean into style sets Atlus RPGs games apart from their contemporaries (particularly this game and the Persona franchise).

I will grant you though that I'm also a Vanillaware fan, and "decadence" is very much their vibe (Those colors. Those bodies. That FOOD!). Could be a "me" thing.

Fair enough. But, I actually like the more subtle design of the original Persona, and even Digital Devil Saga.

I guess, this is a new IP and it's great to stand out.
