Masked Dancer...what's the use case for this one?
I don't really get it. Why wouldn't I just have the person using it swap to the archetype of the mask?

Masquerade Charge can be strong in some cases and the dances are just convenient.

The advantage of the class is that with the masks, you basically get the option to trade accessory slot for what is functionally more skill inheritance, plus change in affinities. It results in being a very flexible archetype that's really good if you absolutely need someone who can do 3 jobs at once.

Eh. It has some decent skills. Also it's easier to put on a new mask rather than level up an entire new archetype. Although I personally like leveling up archetypes. And losing a gear slot can feel a bit painful.

While using a mask is easier, you still want to level up some other classes so that the dancer can actually make use of the inherit skill slots.

Oh yeah. I just use both the mask, and the inherit slots for maximum customizability.

The masks are pretty bad. The main use for the arch-type is applying weakness (if using elemental damage) or charge (if you are using physical damage dealers)

I guess it would make for a very very versatile wizard or whatever.

But then you put the warrior mask on and her strength is...7. Doesn't that make the warrior skills worthless on her?

Being able to have a tonne of skills all on 1 character. You can get a bunch from the mask, while using skill inheritance slots on other stuff. eg. use the mask for spells and inheritance to load up on passive buffs.

The masked dancer has some decent skills too, their fire spell is strong and MP regen is always useful, so getting them included in the deal is why you'd use masked dancer rather than the other class you've got a mask from.

I just had lvl 1 commander at that point, but when I used the mask I got lvl 20 commander skills, which was AOE almighty damage. It was pretty strong at that point in the game

Wait, the skills afforded by the masks change depending on if someone ELSE has the archetype leveled up?

I feel like the mask gimmick is just too weak, why would you need to have 3 classes on a character? Unless they have the accessory to go twice in a row they'll just take forever to actually use any of their skills (since IMO you'll mainly use it for buffs and weakness implants anyways)

Nope, it seems that it's *always* the Level 20 skills. Meaning that the masks can be a good substitute in case you haven't trained a particular Archetype up yet.

As for the physical masks, even they have a use if you slapped Masked Dancer on one of the more physically inclined characters, which given that even most phys skills in this game cost MP, and as someone else pointed out, Masked Dancer gets MP regen, can be a legitimate reason to put the Archetype onto an otherwise physical build, in which case the physical masks help to keep said character relevant for damage.

It's better if you put it this way: "The mask is wearing the dancer."
For instance, if you are wearing a mage mask, then if you try to see that the mage class is getting all the dancer's skills for a single accessory slot, it's a good deal.

On a side note, Masked Dancer on MC for overworld combat is just a better Mage, since it gets HP and MP per kill/stun instead of just MP.

With utilitarian manual accessory you can give your entire team an AoE Charge for the cost of 1 turn. This is what lets melee oriented groups pop off where as caster groups need to prepare individually with Hyper. The sad part of the mask mechanic is it becomes redundant very fast since a real accessory is better than a mask.
metaphor has one early game 'Story flaw' , some classes and mechanics are not thought out. This is sadly one of them. - If you could gain access to like 3-4 accessory slots and be able to wear like 4 masks on the dancer class it would be very interesting. As you could then mix achtypes etc more. - I feel that mask changing in battle should have been a thing. Also this mask /accessory thing should be a mechanic e.g everyone automatically gets a second mask , a third comes from some sought of "persona transform". and accessories maybe should be something totally different. But lets thing about it for a moment you can have (helmet, glasses, gloves, braclets (like maybe 2 on each arm for 4) , neckless /collar , boots , chest amor, leggings and maybe a cloak , ruck sack and 2-3 weapons.) Honestly every character should be able to use any weapon if they master an achetype they should be able to equip the weapon of that on archtype. So i can use a mace with my sword master skills and change tis effinity from strike to smash etc. Strophl says early game that no one in his village surivived yet his quest line has him rehouse his people.... Also you can get a character with 3 classes to go twice by using a party of 3 people meaning last guy speed wise goes twice.
