Honestly, the tell is pretty easy to see if you're actively trying to find one, and extremely obvious once you see it. Gallica also gives you hints throughout the fight.
Here are some hints for anyone who is having trouble seeing it, in order of less to more obvious:
This one should be obvious after using the first one: Don't use Multi-target (AoE) attacks.
Look for a tell between the clones and Heismay
Really LOOK for it. There is a visual tell that you can see to discern the real Heismay.
You can see the tell when picking attacks/targets. You don't have to search for it during Heismay's attacks, but it may also be visible during his attacks.
It may look like a lighting bug to some players, but it's intentional visual design.
Only the real Heismay has a shadow, so just hit the one with a shadow with single target attacks.
"It's extremely obvious. Just look for this very subtle visual mark." lmao I said all I had to say in the OP. It should be WAY clearer. This isn't a trick question on a test
I... what?
This must be your 1st game that has to deal with clones, every game that has a "clone" fight has a tell, you just gotta find it. Battle is a cake walk when you figure it out. If this puzzle already pisses you off good luck on the future dungeons and boss gimmicks.
I was so stoned it took me almost half an hour to realize that very simple visual cue.
but hey at least I had a dumb excuse for not seeing it right away.
Other than that, it's a fairly easy battle, standard jrpg fare.
People complaining about this fight is baffling. It's a very obvious hint.
You should probably go to the eye doctor and get your eyes checked if you missed that obvious a hint. If not blind, maybe have your brain checked out bud.
You may be frustrated with it, but that doesn't mean it was a poor design choice at all. The fact that you passed it without seemingly understanding the gimmick means it was very well designed because it doesn't automatically force you into a fail state.
Hardest boss for me what the 1st boss, easiest boss was the final boss
