Hoi Chummers,
in preparation for the big boom ending of our Shadowrun Chronicles servers, we are going to make you all rich!

Come Friday the 16th, some time during our day, we will give EACH AND EVERY runner 5 Million NuYen to buy whatvere your heart desires and let it rip through the streets, sewers and secret complexes of Boston. You will have two weeks to burn through all the dough and then on the 29th of November, we will take the servers offline, ending our time in the Shadows.

However there is still hope. Some wiz chumers at a digital archive are jabbing with us 'bout keeping the lights on in the place and we will have more on that as we make progress.
IF we manage to shift the game to them, your chars will have the state BEFORE we showered everyone with NuYen, just so you still have something to work for, y'know?

Again, thanks to everyone who played and helped us make it as long as we did! We will remember you when the web has long forgotten our little world.

If this hope will not going to happen, please, give us hints how to set own server and I am sure we will be able to create and run community server. I am sure I am not the only one who has some ways and some knowledge how to run such thing and with little help I am sure the game will persist.

Not the best approach since we will have to sooner or later come with long term solution how to pay for the servers but this can be solved along the way. It has also disadvantage of limiting the game comunity (with will probable slowly shrink) but still - the game can persist.

In the event someone else picks up the game, would this state reversion also mean that any karma we acrue after the 5 million nuyen deployment, also gets rolled back?

If it does get "transfered" to another server holder is the game going to be stuck in its current state or will there be more development done? (Spells, Story, Items, ETC.)

I do like this game a lot and got into the Shadowrun setting a while back and no one in my area really plays, this game was the next best thing to play with other runners. Personally I have always thought it a loss in a team based strat game in a magic universe that we can't heal our teammates with out using a med kit. Maybe that was lost over time.

I do wish you all the best and I enjoyed the game while it lasted. There isn't much like the world reawakened.

The people running the servers won't create new content, unfortunately. But maybe someone picks up the code and does that as a fan work...

Ok, we modfied the database today and tested internally and it worked well - but when we moved the changes to the live servers, there was an unspecified error and the servers would not start...
We tried a few things, but without success so far.
Remember, we are all doing this besides our day jobs and we unfortunately have limited time to invest in this, so at present we cannot guarantee we will be able to add the money to everyone's characters. We will give it another try Saturday, but chances are we won't be able to get it done without changing code in the game and making a new deployment, which is not something we can manage currently.

In better news we have a call next week with an institution that is willing to host servers and see how we can get that worked out legally and technically.

Sorry to spoil the mad spending party, but hey, it is about the people not the dough after all.
